Earphone wires

having knots in your earphone wires is bad for the wires.

My question is, is it better to leave your earphone cables tangled (and only untangle them every now and then) instead of untangling them every time you use them? Which of these causes the most strain or inflicts the most damage on your earphone wires?
Leaving them tangled means that the cables are left bent at an acute angle for a long time, causing the wires to become damaged but if you untangle them (assuming they become tangled as soon as you put them in your bag or pocket) you are bending (tangling) and unbending (untangling) the wires more than if you just left them tangled. Maybe just like a paperclip when you bend it too many times it will snap?

I know it's a strange thought/idea

Makes you think though doesn't it?

Comment if you have any ideas about this!

I'm not even sure about this myself but it's just a thought.
